The second day of the Summer Classic at Longines Tops International Arena proved once again why Valkenswaard is one of Europe's premier destinations for international show jumping. From promising young horses to established championship combinations, Saturday offered a full day of world-class sport, thrilling competitions and a magical finale under the evening sky.

With enthusiastic crowds enjoying the sunshine, lively hospitality and vibrant atmosphere around the venue, riders rose to the occasion across both the iconic grass arena and the sand arena.

The day began with the CSI1* 1.35m Grand Prix Qualifier, where Ireland's Denis Lynch and Cornet Gold claimed victory after a lightning fast round. Mexico's Martina Franco Stephan followed closely behind aboard Ecuador de Beaufour, while Dutch rider Siebe Leemans secured third place with Karamella. With only fractions of a second separating the top three, it was a class that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the very end.

The CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix Qualifier produced another outstanding performance, this time from Dutch Olympian Harrie Smolders and For Chacco TN, who delivered an exceptional round to top the leaderboard. Victor Bettendorf continued Luxembourg's strong form to finish second with Encore Toi du Linon, while Denis Lynch added another podium finish aboard Mr. Newman.

In the afternoon, the spotlight was firmly on the sport's next generation during the CSI Young Horse 6 & 7-year-old class. Sweden's Erika Lickhammer-van Helmond guided Zaccio VHL to victory, ahead of Victor Bettendorf with Jumbo la Roque and Ireland's Diarmuid Howley aboard Malia VA. The class once again highlighted the exceptional quality of young horses competing at Longines Tops International Arena.

The CSI4* 1.45m saw Monaco's Anastasia Nielsen claim an impressive victory with Dark Chocolate 48. Brazil's legendary Rodrigo Pessoa finished second aboard Hard'rock AF, while Italy's Lorenzo De Luca, competing for Mexico, completed the podium with Golden du Breuil.

As the sun began to set over Valkenswaard, anticipation built for the day's feature class, the CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix Qualifier held under the lights. A rare and spectacular sight at Longines Tops International Arena, the combination of golden sunset skies, floodlights and elite sport created a truly unforgettable setting.

Britain's Harry Charles continued his outstanding weekend by claiming his second major victory, once again partnering Bandit to the top of the podium. Germany's Daniel Deusser and Bingo Ste Hermelle repeated Friday's runner-up finish, while Dutch rider Michael Greeve delighted the home crowd by securing third place aboard Rubens.

Over on the sand arena, Brazil's Camila Mazza de Benedicto added another victory to her weekend, winning the CSI2 1.40m* with Caramba de Janeiro. Dutch rider Siebe Leemans finished second aboard Assie Mie Nou Z, while Ireland's Diarmuid Howley completed the podium with Cabal VA.

Alongside the international competition, the show class offered a glimpse into the future of the sport. Talented young riders dominated the arena with their ponies, showcasing confidence, skill and enthusiasm beyond their years. Their performances highlighted the promising future of show jumping and were met with warm applause from the spectators, making it one of the day's most heartwarming moments.
