François Mathy Jr is born in Belgium and is the son of International show jumper François Mathy which got two bronze medals at Montreal Olympics in 1976. He started riding at the age of 7.
After graduated HEC in Liège, Belgium, Mathy Jr decided to follow his family path and turn entirely into horses. Speaking 6 languages helps him a lot to find new talents to stay at the highest level and train young riders.
He runs Francois Mathy Stables in Sougne-Remouchamps, Belgium. He coaches riders and breeds, trains and trades horses for jumping.
He competed at Rome World Equestrian Games in 1998 by representing Belgium. He also was a finalist of 2014 FEI World Cup of Lyon. His dream is to compete at the Olympics.
