William Whitaker is a British show jumping rider from the renowned Whitaker equestrian dynasty. Growing up around horses in Yorkshire, he began riding at a young age and quickly showed promise, progressing through junior and young rider ranks with strong results and medals at European Championships.
Since stepping up to senior international competition, William has become a consistent performer across international events, recording well over 3,100 FEI starts and more than 90 international wins. He has represented Great Britain in major championships including the FEI World Equestrian Games and European Championships, and has been selected for numerous Nations Cup teams, underscoring his value in top team competition.
Among his standout achievements, William captured victory in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Grand Prix at Olympia in London aboard Utamaro d’Ecaussines, a highlight moment in front of a home crowd, and has also won World Cup qualifiers such as the Western European League leg in Stuttgart.
Known for his competitive spirit and versatility with a range of top horses, William combines his depth of experience with a long-term commitment to competing and producing sport horses. He continues to compete internationally while carrying forward the legacy of one of Britain’s most storied show jumping families.
