BE
Christophe started to compete on ponies at age seven. He took up riding mostly thanks to his father and his family. His father was an eventer. His brothers Olivier, Philippe and Yves have all competed in equestrian jumping at international level. He is married to Vicky Smits, an international dressage rider, and they have one son, Nikias. He runs Sportstal Vanderhasselt in Ternat, Belgium. He breeds, competes, trains and sells horses, and offers personal training at the facility. His family also runs a horse transport business.
He represented Belgium at the European Championships for Juniors (1996) and Young Riders (1999).
