MX
Enrique Gonzalez is a veteran Mexican international show jumping rider, trainer and agent with more than three decades of experience in the equestrian world. Dedicated to horses from a young age, he co‑founded Mexico’s first high‑performance riding club, Club Hípico La Puerta, in 1987 and later established Santa Clara Show Jumpers, helping place numerous top horses with riders internationally.
Known in the equestrian community as “La Pajara” (“the Bird”), Enrique has enjoyed a successful competitive career with multiple Grand Prix victories and strong international results. He represented Mexico at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, further demonstrating his longevity at the highest level of the sport.
Enrique was also a member of Mexico’s bronze medal‑winning team at the 2011 Pan American Games and has continued to compete internationally over many years.
In addition to his riding career, Enrique has made significant contributions as a trainer and mentor. Since 2013, he has run E2 Stables in California alongside Eduardo Menezes, focusing on developing horses and riders for competition around the world.
Across his career, Enrique has recorded over 1,300 FEI starts and numerous international successes, underlining his experience and commitment to the sport.
