August 17, 2025For the die-hard show jumping fan, Valkenswaard this week is pure heaven. From 22–24 August, the Longines Tops International Arena will host an extraordinary roll call of horse-and-rider combinations that have defined the season – and in some cases, the sport itself.
This is your chance to see Edwina Tops-Alexander pilot both the ultra-experienced Fellow Castlefield and the electric Corelli de Mies; 2024 LGCT Championship winner Max Kühner with his two top-tier campaigners Eic Cooley Jump The Q and Elektric Blue P; and current 2025 LGCT Championship leader Gilles Thomas aboard his phenomenally consistent Luna van het Dennehof.
The field is stacked with proven winners: Pieter Devos and Primo DV, Daniel Deusser with Bingo Ste Hermelle, Simon Delestre on Dexter Fontenis Z, and Ben Maher pairing up with Dallas Vegas Batilly. Christian Kukuk returns with Chageorge, while Hans-Dieter Dreher brings the scopey Elysium.
Home heroes are out in force, led by Maikel van der Vleuten and his Olympic bronze medallist Beauville Z N.O.P., Sanne Thijssen with the fiery Con Quidam RB, previous winners of LGCT Grand Prix of Valkenswaard, and Harrie Smolders’ brings the one and only Mr consistent, Monaco. International stars like Malin Baryard-Johnsson and H&M Indiana, Laura Kraut and Baloutinue, and Cian O’Connor with Iron Man will keep the competition razor-sharp.
And for those who love spotting the next generation, Valkenswaard delivers: Max Wachman with Kilkenny, Jeanne Sadran on Dexter de Kerglenn, Sophie Hinners with both Iron Dames My Prins and Iron Dames Singclair, as well as this season's podium veterans in the likes of Duarte Seabra aboard Dourados 2 will be pushing their fellow competitors every step of the way.
